What the Bachelorette Can Teach us About Love And Self-Worth
Watching Rachel on this season of the Bachelorette has been so much fun, mostly because she is incredible. She is strong and smart and doesn't put up with any nonsense from the guys. She is a good role model for young girls when it comes to dating.
Some things we have learned from Rachel so far
1. Cheaters and liars need to be sent packing
You hear them out and give them a chance to plead their case, but at the end of the day, they don't deserve to be in your life, never-mind in your heart. This is excellent life advice, both with significant others and with friends. DeMario couldn't even keep his own story straight and Rachel told him to take a hike.
2. You deserve to be the focus
A relationship is a two-way street that requires both parties to give it their all. If someone spends all their time complaining about someone else (I'm looking at you Blake), they don't deserve you.
3. You can be strong and smart, but you can also be sexy. They are not mutually exclusive. I give the guys this season a lot of credit, because although they frequently point out Rachel's beauty (as they should, she's gorgeous), they seem to be equally attracted to her brains and sense of self.
4. Honesty is Everything
I respect how direct Rachel is in terms of how she feels about the guys, especially when she sends them home. Honesty is key in a relationship, even one that isn't working.
